| Abstract | This paper introduces BrAVo, a Brokering Architecture for Video on-demand over the Internet. BrAVo flexibly allows publishing, searching and retrieving VoD services as well as streaming and rendering of corresponding audio/video content. The design of BrAVo is characterized by its exploitation of state-of-art Java-based technologies which foster modularity and portability. In particular, brokering mechanisms depend on the Jini middleware. Streaming of multimedia data relies on the Internet RTP/RTCP protocols. Rendering of multimedia sessions is assisted by Java Media Framework. |
